Bal Vatika
At Bal Vatika evaluation is based on the progress and development of the child in all fields and in every area of physical, social, emotional, language, cognitive and creative keeping in mind the growth in imagination, appreciation, attention span and memory. It is a continuous process based on day to day observation of the child by the teacher.
Class I–IV
- Continuous evaluation in classes I – II
- Grading in each subject on the basis of regularity, effort and class performance
Class V
- Term I includes Unit Test (1)of 10 marks and Half-Yearly of 30 marks.
- Term 2 include Unit Test (2) of 10 marks and Final Exam of 30 marks.
- Assessment of Note Books and Subject Enrichment Activities is of 5 marks each which will be conducted at the term end.
Classes VI–VIII – SCHOLASTIC
- Term-1 includes Periodic Test-1 of 20marks and Half Yearly of 80 marks. Assessment of Note Books of 5marks and Subject enrichment activities of 5 marks at the end of term.
- Term-II includes Periodic Test-2 of 20marks and Final exam of 80 marks. Assessment of Note Books of 5 marks and Subject enrichment activities of 5 marks at the end of term.
CO-SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES
For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas be carried out.
Work Education – Work Education refers to skill-based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community.
> Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)
> Health and Physical Education (Sports/Martial Arts/Yoga/NCC etc.)
DISCIPLINE
The students will also be assessed for discipline which will be based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading on Discipline will be done term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair)
CLASS IX
Periodic Test-1 of 50marks, Periodic Test-2 of 80marks and Periodic Test-3 of 80marks . Final Exam of 80 marks. Assessment of Notebooks of 5 marks and Subject Enrichment Activity of 5 marks at session end.
- The pass mark for all classes is 33%.
- A student must at get least 33% in each subject to be eligible for promotion to the next class.
- A candidate failing in two of the five subjects of the examination shall be placed in Compartment in those subject and shall thus be eligible for one retest for not more than two subjects in the Final Exam.
- In case the student fails to secure 33% in more than two subjects, he/she is not eligible for retest and shall not be promoted to the next class.
- Promotion will be given on the basis of the final marks i.e internal assessment 20% + Final Exam 80%. A student must pass separately in internal assessment and final exam.
CLASS X
Besides the Annual Board Examination conducted by CBSE, the school will be conducting the following Examinations for Class X Students:
> Periodic Test-1
> Periodic Test-2
> Periodic Test-3
> Pre Board Examination
> For Class X, the CBSE conducts a nationwide examination in the month of February-March, called the All India School Certificate Examination (AISCE).
Class XI
- Examination pattern : Unit Test-1 of 25marks, Term-1 Exam of 100marks and Unit Test-2of 25 marks and Final Exam of 100 marks.
- A student will be eligible for promotion to class XII if he/she obtains at least 33% marks in all the five subjects . The pass mark in each subject is 33%.
- The student is required to obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical separately in addition to 33% marks in aggregate in order to be eligible for promotion in class XII.
- A candidate failing in one of the five subjects of the examination in Class XI shall be placed in Compartment in that subject and shall thus be eligible for one retest for not more than one subject.
- In case the student fails to secure 33% in more than one subject (in theory and practical/project work separately), he/she is not eligible for retest and shall not be promoted to Class XII.
- No re-exam shall be conducted except on genuine grounds including medical.
CLASS XII
Besides the Annual Board Examination conducted by CBSE, the school will be conducting the following Examinations for Class XII Students:
- First round of Unit Tests (before the Half Yearly Examination)
- Half Yearly Examination (in September)
- Second round of Unit Tests (in October – November)
- Pre Board Examination (in December)For Class XII, the CBSE conducts a nationwide examination in the month of February-March, called the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE). Along with marks, subject wise 9 point grades as given below are also shown in the report card. The result is declared in May.
